is a collage-type collection of oil on canvas and newspaper. In this collection I centre my attention on the communicational power of hands and their infinite expressiveness, and on the unnoticed criticism and commentary present in the human hand and its restlessness. The hands as an uncensored denouncer and agent of individual belief, as both the ambassador and the advocate for a person, yet also as perpetrator and culprit of all sorts. ‘Hand language’, as the primal and border-crossing idiom -and as the universal alternative to silence and the original ‘mother tongue’ – combine with the perfect context of newspapers as the official information source that awakens the reaction of uncontrollable, irrepressible hands.
They knowing that their ‘remarks’, if kept or held silent, will either be overlooked… or forgiven.
